I grabbed this for my witchy reading during spooky season, but this book could be read anytime during the year.

Mika Moon is a practicing witch who posts ‘witchy’ videos on her Instagram. (I’ll be honest – I would follow her channel.) She’s contacted by an eccentric old actor to help take care of three orphaned young witches. Reluctantly she accepts the position – in walks Jamie Kelly, the rude and obstinate librarian of the big old house.

This book is adorable. It’s charmingly British and elegantly witchy. Mika is delightful and Jamie is brooding in his cranky Irishness. I didn’t have any expectations for this book and that might be why it’s enjoyable and squishy. There’s nothing too insane to hate or too dorky to not like, it’s just a lot of fun.

This may have a mask of spellwork but this book is about family, and those we make our family. This is a fun read that will not befuddle your brain with complicated magic but it’s warm and inviting like enchanted tea.
